Are auditions required?
Auditions are not required. Student submissions are up to the discretion of each teacher.

Do Theatre/Dance teachers have to attend?
Teachers must attend these events with their students. Additional chaperones are up to the discretion of the director.

Details:

  • Open to students grades in 6th-12th from Theatre and Dance classes
  • Masterclasses will include:
    • Dance for Actors
    • How to Prepare for an Audition
    • Choreographic Process-Making together
    • Laban and Yat
    • Sound Painting
    • Improvisational Storytelling
  • No prior preparation is required, however teachers will have the opportunity to submit students to bring a prepared monologue or dance excerpt for feedback for one of the masterclasses.

Who are the leaders of the NCAIS Theatre & Dance Festival?
Cameron Bolin, Kathy Leiner and Leslie Cossor, longtime NCAIS faculty members, are the festival coordinators.
NCAIS faculty as well as guest artists Adam Montague and Jessica Yagoda will be leading masterclasses.
