Exploring Leading from the Center: Middle Managers | Lyndon Rego & Philomena Rego, CoMetta
Middle Managers have distinct responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities. We will help participants co-create maps of these roles by collectively crowd-sourcing learning:
- Growing Self-Awareness: Using Middle Manager maps, we will help participants understanding their strengths and development gaps and surface areas in which they may need to grow their individual capabilities.
- Tracing Development Pathways: We will help participants identify pathways and actions for development to close gaps and rise to their aspirations. We will introduce participants to core frameworks for learning and growth.

Building the Capacity for Collaboration | Lyndon Rego & Philomena Rego, CoMetta
Understanding leadership as a social practice that involves the efforts of collectives is key in making a shift to work interdependently with others. We will provide a key lens to help participants understand leading in this context.
- Peer Coaching: The session will provide an opportunity for Middle Managers to practice offering and receiving coaching, which will be important as they seek to develop their direct reports and grow themselves through the support of bosses and mentors. We will provide participants with a framework for listening, inquiry, and feedback that forms the foundation of coaching.
- Resilience: The middle manager role entails dealing with obstacles and stress. We will share with participants practices from Positive Intelligence that focus on how we become more aware of our inner dialogue and “internal saboteurs” and nurture our “sage capabilities” that bring forth our best selves. Closing: We’ll close out the program to help participants crystallize learning and actions they are going to take forward.
