At age eight I was diagnosed with several language processing disorders affecting reading, spelling, writing, math, hearing, and speaking. Over the years, I have picked up many different devices, programs and techniques to help me in my day to day life. Recently, I have been spending a lot of my time helping others with similar needs set up their assistive technology and learn how to use it.  The hardships I have experienced as a young disabled person in our modern education system shaped me into the woman I am today, and produced a unique insight and point of view concerning educational accessibility. I now own my differences and am able to see the multitude of positivity and strength they have brought into my life. I will be speaking to continue spreading awareness on behalf of those who have learning disabilities, and share the many advantages, strengths, and positive aspects of being wired a little differently.
