Highly skilled and effective Board of Trustee members are not born, they are created through disciplined training and experience in not-for-profit governance. While some of our business and professional skills are transferable to good school governance, many are not, and we need to know the difference if we want our schools to thrive. This workshop will focus on how we can be highly effective board members who add high value to our schools. We also will learn from some “war stories” about some well-meaning but poor performing trustees who unwittingly caused their schools to fail. Our time together will be interactive, and our goal is for board members to leave the day feeling empowered to be their best selves in the boardroom.
