Permission to Feel:  Unlocking the Power of Emotions to Help Our Kids, Ourselves, and Our Society Thrive

by Marc Brackett

Join fellow NCAIS educators for our Spring Book club series discussing a practical and transformative 5-step strategy to ensure the emotional wellbeing of yourself and your child. Led by Center for Collaborative Classroom's Katharine Bonasera and Keri Bartholomew, this three-part series will dive into the book Permission to Feel and provide the time and space needed to discuss a text that will support educators' work with students.

This book study is comprised of three one-hour informal Zoom sessions. Each session is from 7:00–8:00 pm ET.

Who Should Attend: Independent school teachers, coaches, and leaders

Cost: $50 NCAIS Members $75 Non-Members; Participants will need to purchase their own copy of the book.

Book Study Schedule:

Book Study Session #1: February 22 @ 7pm

Description: Part 1 - Participants will explore the concept of giving themselves and others “permission to feel.” They will reflect on how emotions give us information and consider how they can promote being an “emotion scientist”. Please read Part 1 before the session.

Book Study Session #2: March 8 @ 7pm
